PASSIONATE ABOUT LOCAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

April 2021.

In his new role as De Wildt Solar’s Community Operations Project Officer, Julius Nong is the bridge between the solar project and the surrounding beneficiary communities that include Brits, Mmakau, Mothotlung, Lethlabile, and Garankwa.

His role is to design and implement community development programmes informed by consultations with stakeholders, community members and leaders, all of which are aimed at building community resilience.

“I am passionate about bringing positive change to other people’s lives and luckily for me, my job provides a platform to help grow the local economy, help our communities to alleviate poverty, improve the quality of education and health care, create jobs and reduce unemployment with integrity and excellence,” said Julius Nong.

Whilst De Wildt Solar is committed to positively impacting its beneficiary communities through various programmes, Julius’s heart lies in initiatives that benefit both long and short term Early Childhood Development.

“Research has proven that quality early learning produces adults who are more responsible and do well in life. Investment into the quality of early learning and making it accessible to our communities will have a positive long-term impact, creating a generation of responsible adults, reducing cases of current social difficulties,” concluded Julius Nong.
